Regular attendance is important for students to gain the skills and understanding to continue to progress. Poor attendance can affect class placement and students’ roles in choreography. Please let us know if you will need to miss a class or if you will be late. For their safety, late students will be required to complete a warm up before joining class.

Class placement is at our instructors’ discretion and based on various skill and movement markers for each level. Placement can be adjusted based on student performance. Most students should expect to spend at least 2 years in each level. To help dancers track their progress and reach their dance goals, we provide mid season (December) and end of season (June) progress reports. At the end of the season, students will receive their class placements for the following season. Goal setting conferences are available for dancers and families upon request.

Dance is an activity that cultivates and requires discipline and concentration. By following proper classroom etiquette, we create an environment that promotes respect, a positive learning experience and empowers students to explore their personal creativity. 

-Students should enter the space with a positive attitude and be prepared to work hard and try their best. 

-Students should adhere to the dress code for all classes. Only dance shoes and clean (indoor use only) sneakers will be permitted on the dance floors.

-Only water will be permitted in the studios. All other food or beverages must be kept in the lobby. 

- Be respectful of classmates, teachers and the facility while taking class. 

-To create the optimal class experience for everyone, students are expected to stay focused and keep talking to a minimum.

-A teacher must be present before students may enter the room. 

-Students should encourage and celebrate other dancers during class. 

*Students unable to follow these guidelines may be dismissed from class for the day. 

If classes are canceled due to weather, students and families will be notified via email. Should classes need to be canceled, students may schedule a make-up class in the equivalent or lower level.

-To make sure our lobby is a safe and enjoyable place, we ask that you clean up after yourself and keep all belongings in cubbies or hung up. Liatris Dance Center is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Any items left behind will be placed in our lost and found.

-For the safety of yourself and others we ask that you please act appropriately in the lobby. (No running, horseplay, climbing, yelling etc.) This includes our smallest and tiniest friends and siblings. 

-While observation windows offer a great opportunity for people to get a glimpse of our classes, they can also be distracting to students. Please be mindful of your body language and behavior so all participants are able to focus and participate at their fullest potential. 

-Please refrain from filming unless given specific permission. All filming is for educational purposes only and we ask that you withhold from sharing on social media to protect the studio’s intellectual property and privacy of other students. 

Any student missing classes may schedule a make up class (any style) at the equivalent or lower level. Tuition credits are not available for missed classes. Classes must be made up during the same season (September-June). Summer classes must be made up in the summer session (June-August.) Contact the studio to schedule a make-up class.

Drop Off:

Upon arrival, early childhood students MUST go to the bathroom before class. 
Please place personal items in the designated area. 

Pick Up:

Early childhood students must have their caregiver pick them up in the studio lobby.
Students in Level 1/2 may get picked up at the sidewalk/curb or in the lobby.
Students in Level 3+ may get picked up at any caregiver approved location. 

All dance classes perform in our Spring Showcase, unless otherwise indicated. Spring Showcase takes place during May or June. Specific dates and details will be available at a later time.

A free trial class is available to help students decide if a particular class or style is a good fit for them. Tuition is non refundable after the first class in a session. Tuition is non transferable to another session or student. Should a student miss class for any reason, a make up class can be scheduled.
